BraveTrace’s New Zealand Energy Certificate System (NZECS) is one of the most rigorous energy certificate tracking registries in the world.
It meets leading international reporting standards and is globally recognised as the Energy Attribute Certificate (EAC) system in common use in Aotearoa New Zealand.
With BraveTrace, you can:
- Claim with confidence that every MWh of electricity you consume is matched with a MWh produced from a verified renewable generator,
- Report zero-carbon Scope 2 electricity-related emissions in line with international standards, supported by a detailed BraveTrace verification report,
- Accelerate the deployment of more renewable energy across Aotearoa New Zealand, and

Eligibility and use
When your organisation purchases, tracks and redeems NZ-ECs against its electricity consumption through the NZECS registry, you become eligible to use the digital BraveTrace Stamp. Before issuing the Stamp, BraveTrace will confirm your eligibility and provide:

To ensure the Stamp is used accurately and responsibly, the BraveTrace Stamp & Marketing Guidelines have been specifically developed for the BraveTrace Network, including Registrants, Participants, and Energy Users.
