We are thrilled to share that the 23/24 Production Year (1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024) has been another hugely successful year for BraveTrace.
We would like to take the opportunity to sincerely thank our BraveTrace network for finalising registrations and transactions in a timely manner, enabling us to successfully close out the 23/24 production year.
The volume of New Zealand Energy Certificates (NZ-ECs) redeemed has grown by over 40% to almost 1.8 TWh, which is equivalent to approximately 4.5% of the electricity consumed in Aotearoa New Zealand.
This growth in certificates traded increases the carbon intensity of the Residual Supply Mix (RSM), further incentivising parties to address greenhouse gas emissions. We look forward to finalising the RSM figures and sharing them with you soon.
It’s awesome to see the BraveTrace network expanding, with over 100 additional energy users and a diverse range of new renewable generators getting involved this past production year. We are also experiencing growing interest from brokers and intermediaries to support the increased demand for our certificates.
